Midwest First-Year conference Champion Award

The Midwest First-Year Conference is eager to recognize higher education professionals who exemplify outstanding service and leadership in working with first-year students. This award will be presented at the 2017 Midwest First-Year Conference. The winner will receive a plaque and free conference registration for the 37th Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience in San Antonio, Texas (February 10-13th, 2018).

Criteria:

  • The nominee must work in a higher education institution.
  • The nominee has contributed to high-impact practices for first-year students and programs.
  • The nominee is an advocate for first-year students and has championed the improvement/implementation of first-year services and resources on his or her campus.
  • The nominee must be present at the fall 2017 Midwest First-Year Conference (September 29, 2017).

Nomination process:

Nominator must complete the biographical form and submit two letters of support. The first letter should be from a professional colleague and/or supervisor and the second letter should be from a student whom the nominator has influenced.

The biographical form and supporting documents must be e-mailed to the MFYC Committee by August 4, 2017 at mfycplanning@gmail.com.
